LAND HERITAGE INSTITUTE BIRD WALK

The parking area we'll use is in front of the Headquarters:   29.245082, -98.517882

 

Meet Patsy and Alan Kuentz (210/493-2673 or 210/749-7196) at the Land Heritage Institute Headquarters Building. Take Exit 46 off Loop 410 on the south side of San Antonio and turn south on Moursund Blvd., which turns into Pleasanton Road. Turn right onto Neal Road about 5 miles south of 410.  (The street sign can be hard to see at that turn.)  Follow Neal Road 2.0 miles to the open gate on the right. Watch for the small temporary sign on the ground on the right side of the road indicating the turn.  Go through the open gate and follow the LHI road into the property to the first right turn to the HQ building.  Park at the HQ Building.  We’ll be sharing that area with horses and horseback riders.  

A $3 cash donation per person is requested by LHI to cover facilities maintenance. Visitors are asked to sign in and sign a waiver to release LHI of liability..

We will cover 1 ½ - 2 miles.  Most of the morning will be an easy walk on grass or dirt paths with a few slight uphill or downhill areas.  Depending on soil conditions, we will carpool to drive from one area to another and will bird from the cars.

Maximum participants: 20 people

Bring snacks and water, binoculars, and sun/insect protection. Wear close-toed shoes and a hat. If you have any questions or need to cancel, please contact Patsy 210/493-2673 or Alan 210/749-7196. If weather forces a cancellation, we will contact you by email as soon as a decision is made.
