We will meet at the Brookshire Brothers store\, 18275 FM 306\, Canyon Lake\, TX 78133 at 8:30 AM. This will be a good restroom stop before we start. We will drive to the nearby Madrone Trail (1.2 miles down Canyon Park Rd.) for a leisurely hike on the trail. Expect a rocky path\, similar to the area hiked at the Canyon Lake Gorge. There is a new irrigated pollinator garden planted by the local Master Naturalist chapter\, which is eventually supposed to have a bird blind. Proceeding down the path\, we’ll be able to scan Canyon Lake for waterfowl. There are Port-a-Potties at the beginning of the trail. Bring snacks and water. After the walk\, we can lunch at Brookshire Brothers\, which has a deli where you can get a sandwich or hot meal. Walk is limited to 15.
