Hunter Gibson, with the Landmark Inn State Historic Site, will meet us at the parking area near the RV park at the Regional Park 8:00 AM. After walking along the river there, we will drive over to the Landmark Inn and take the river trails. There is a $1 fee for admission to the Landmark Inn grounds.
The trail at the regional park is mostly level, but has very little shade. The trail at the Inn is very shady, though. The regional park website has a bird checklist you can print or download in case you’re wondering what species you may see there.
Please bring binoculars (loaners will be available), water, and sun/insect protection. Wear close-toed shoes and a hat. There are restrooms available. Please check the weather forecast the day before the outing to assess the potential for extreme temperatures or precipitation. Prepare accordingly. Check your email the day before the outing in case the outing has to be cancelled due to weather.
If you have any questions or need to cancel, please contact Ann Brown at 830-857-5793.
