Bird Walk: Boot Ranch Community, Fredericksburg, TX, Gillespie County
Meet at: The Club at Boot Ranch, 1447 Boot Ranch Circle, Fredericksburg, TX 78624
Wed. October 14, 2026, 8:30 am to Noon
Activities Director for the Boot Ranch Community (and birder), Amy Crowson, has invited us and 6 Bexar Audubon South Central Texas members to join a group of birders from the Boot Ranch Community for a bird walk around this beautiful residential property in Fredericksburg in Gillespie Couty. If you are working to get 100 birds in each BASCTX County for the Heart of Texas 100, this is a great opportunity.
We will meet at the clubhouse, and Amy will join us for a birding walk around the property. This residential community about 1.5 hours from central San Antonio features many amenities, including extensive native plantings, which attract a variety of birds. The golf course also has water, a further attraction for migrants on their way and in need of a drink and a bath.
We will bird from 8:30 to 11:30 on roads and improved paths covering about two miles. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. You may bring your lunch to eat before returning to San Antonio or avail yourself of the many dining choices in nearby downtown Fredericksburg. It will make a GREAT outing to the Hill Country that includes birds.
If you want to carpool, please let us know if you want to ride or would be willing to drive and take someone along with you. Tom and Patsy can take two people in their vehicle (210-867-7507).
Please Note: Only six people can sign up for this outing.
All spots have been filled.
