Join Comal County Birder Lynn Thompson ( Lthompson54@satx.rr.com) on Monday, Feb. 13 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM for a bird walk at Canyon Lake. We will meet at the Brookshire Brothers store, 18275 FM 306, Canyon Lake, TX 78133 at 8:30 AM. This will be a good restroom stop before we start. We will drive to the nearby Madrone Trail (1.2 miles down Canyon Park Rd.) for a leisurely hike on the trail. Expect a rocky path, similar to the area hiked at the Canyon Lake Gorge. There is a new irrigated pollinator garden planted by the local Master Naturalist chapter, which is eventually supposed to have a bird blind. Proceeding down the path, we'll be able to scan Canyon Lake for waterfowl. There are Port-a-Potties at the beginning of the trail. Bring snacks and water. After the walk, we can lunch at Brookshire Brothers, which has a deli where you can get a sandwich or hot meal.
