If you would to like to participate in BAS activities, here's a list of volunteer opportunities, where you can sign up to help us protect our environment and native species.
April 8 iNaturalist Workshop and BioBlitz
Event Chair: Becca Taylor
DETAILS:
Texas Nature Trackers Biologist Craig Hensley will lead an in-person workshop about using iNaturalist in the field to take photos of and identify plants, mammals, birds, and insects with this global community science app. Learn how your observations help scientists understand when and where organisms occur, and how to connect with experts to help identify the observations you share. Knowing how to use iNaturalist is also necessary if you plan to participate in the City Nature Challenge April 28 – May 1, 2023.
Create an iNaturalist account on your computer first https://www.inaturalist.org/, then download the app to your phone prior to the workshop. You may bring water and snacks.
Workshop: 9:00 – 11:00 AM: Friedrich Wilderness Park Classroom, 21395 Milsa Dr., San Antonio, TX 78256
BioBlitz: 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM: Friedrich Wilderness Park, 21395 Milsa Dr., San Antonio, TX 78256
Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
