BAS Vice President Patsy Inglet will lead this webinar to help you learn about 14 species of shorebirds that can be found in Central Texas. Why focus on shorebirds so far from the coastal shore? Because not every bird found at the shore is a shorebird, and not every shorebird is found at the coastal shore. Many shorebirds migrate right through the middle of North America in the Central Flyway and stop over on the shores of rivers, lakes, ponds, and other wetlands as they make their way on their migration; some stay to breed.
After this webinar and the field trip to the wetlands at Mitchell Lake Audubon Center on Saturday, September 10 from 8 to 10 AM, you will be better able to identify Central Texas shorebirds and appreciate the marathon journeys these birds make every year.
