BAS Monthly Meeting April 27 Victoria Hummingbirds

Dr. Brent Ortego, wildlife biologist, will talk to us about the Victoria County hummingbird banding project he conducted from 1995-2010. During the first winter, he banded 14 hummingbirds, which eventually led to a peak wintering population of 160 birds. During his presentation to BAS, Dr. Ortego will discuss these amazing birds, and how that remarkable increase of Victoria winter hummingbirds occurred. Approved for AAMN AT hours.
